SOLIDARITY FUND FOR HISTORIANS - AMSTERDAM 2010
For a GLOBAL community of historians
The Dutch Organizing Committee of the 21st INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF
HISTORICAL SCIENCES in Amsterdam is pleased to announce that with the
generous support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Professor van
Winterfonds, the Harreveld Fonds and private donations, it has set up a
Solidarity Fund for Historians - Amsterdam 2010.
This Solidarity Fund aims at ensuring that as many countries as possible are
represented at the International Congress of Historical Sciences, so that
voice can be given to the diverse and truly global community of historians.
It will therefore support talented historians from developing countries who
wish to participate in the congress but are unable to do so for financial
reasons.
Historians from developing countries who do not have access to the (full)
financial resources necessary to attend the congress, will be able to apply
for support from the Solidarity Fund for Historians - Amsterdam 2010. This
support will be given in the form of accommodation and/or an economy class
return-flight to Amsterdam and/or a congress registration fee waiver. The
Solidarity Fund is primarily intended for historians coming from the
countries included in the official List of Recipients of Official
Development Assistance (2008-2010) of the Organization for Economic
Co-operation and Development (OECD). Priority will be given to candidates
who are presenting a paper or are session organizers at the congress.
