sorry but no good news. Basically it means no support and no program updates for this OS, but virus updates till the end of 2010. So I think that 1 year license may still work for you in this case.
Best regards,
ALWIL Software a.s. support team
Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: ZTS-932850 Department: [ENG] Technical support Priority: Default Status: On Hold

This is the latest PCR..... got this reply to a letter I sent to Awil/Avast less than half an hour ago. (My letter to them was regarding if they had decided on a 'time' yet, or a date)
I think in the climate of things, this is sorta good news, especially as we both knew we were going to lose protection altogether.
I have just this minute written back to them... will keep you posted.

I agree! It means I can extend my procrastination through 2010!

They would have to be provide virus update especially to those who paid for a year or would have to do a prorate refund. So, they decided to do a virus updates for a year more. Technically, for paid version they would still have to provide support.
Just my oponion, wouldn't they also have to provide program update for a year as well, if it is the paid version?
I guess it depeneds when they stop selling the pro version for eailer version of windows operating system.

Hi Greg,, Not sure about the paid versions, but you could be right. At this point, I am just grateful that they are not shutting out us free users for another year. (minus the new engine(s) of course)
